The four chords have been printed and pinned to my fridge for years. Words are relevant and wise and help me live with less stress and grief. It delves deeply into the difficulties that many of us experience in our daily lives. This is one of those “need to read”! I love the way small businesses lead you to something you might need. I hope you enjoy my summary of the agreements. You may be buying it on your next trip to bookstores. For those who have it, it may be a little help to reopen it. In the four agreements, Don Miguel Ruiz revealed how the process of our education, or “domestication,” could make us forget the wisdom with which we were born. Throughout our lives, we have made many agreements that go against ourselves and cause unnecessary suffering. The four agreements help us break these self-limitation agreements and replace them with agreements that bring us personal freedom, happiness and love. His best-known book, The Four Agreements, was published in 1997 and has sold about 10 million times in the United States and has been translated into 46 languages. The book advocates the personal freedom of convictions and agreements we have made with ourselves and with others, which create use and unhappiness in our lives. It was broadcast on the television show Oprah.
The four chords are: Don Miguel`s second book begins with a summary of the four chords on which he wrote in his first book. He added the fifth agreement. I only partially agree with the fifth agreement. In my opinion… The Fifth Agreement focuses on “Be skeptical, but learn to listen.” In truth, the message was difficult to grasp. The first … Our best day-to-day and sometimes moment-to-moment changes, depending on what is happening in our lives and our physical, emotional and spiritual health. We can offer more love to the world by starting with ourselves. His son, Don Jose Ruiz, then published a sequel with his father, titled The Fifth Agreement, adding another chord: People will come to them and tell you their personal story, their views on what they think is the truth. But you won`t judge whether it`s the truth or if it`s not the truth. You have no judgment, but you have respect. We hear the way other people express themselves, knowing that everything they say is nothing but a story distorted by their faith.
You know it because you feel it. You know that, that`s all. But you also know when their words come from the truth, and you know it without words, and that is the main point. All artists live in their own dreams, in their own world. In this world, everything they perceive is the truth to them, and it might be absolutely true for artists who express their history, but that is not the truth for you. The only truth for you is what you perceive in your world. With this consciousness, there is nothing to prove to anyone. It`s not about being right or wrong. They respect what someone says because respect is so important.
When you hear, you respect other artists, you respect their art, their creation. Forgiving ourselves makes it much easier to redeem ourselves and ask forgiveness from others and forgive others for their weaknesses and imperfections. In the Fifth Agreement, Don Miguel Ruiz and his son Don Jose Ruiz offer a new perspective on the four agreements and a powerful new agreement to transform our lives into our personal skies.
